God's Word To Bring In The Harvest

The pen is mightier than the sword

We recognize that "the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." (2 Corinthians 10:4)

One of the ways we pull down strongholds and cast down arguments is by making our case in writing, where we can lay out Scripture and cogent thoughts inspired by the Holy Spirit, and drawn from the very mind of Christ. Isn't that what we see in the writings of Paul and the apostles?

And by the way, we refer to their writings as "the book of James" or "the book of Ephesians", etc. but those weren't books. They were letters, some longer than others, but none of them were what we think of today as "books".

And yet it was those concise and powerful writings that changed the course of human history.  Those writers of old were focused on the message God gave them, not getting on some best seller list.  

Fast forward about 1500 years...

It was Martin Luther who upended the tyrannical church of the day with a plethora of short, provocative books and pamphlets that electrified German society in the early 1500's.

He didn't raise an army - he  lifted his pen. 

He didn't throw molotov cocktails - he lit the culture on fire with inspired rhetoric.

While much of today's church is focused on our exit strategy, (more emphasis on exit than strategy), Jesus has an occupation strategy and is focused on the harvest. 

We are redefining the publishing space and breaking free from the limitations of the status quo. I know a little about this. When I started Hidden Manna Publishing back in 1988, and published my own manuscript The Bible Incorporated - In Your Life, Job & Business, the industry turned their noses up at my book because I was "nobody". I had no following.  I was a complete unknown.

But God gave me a confidence and a strategy. Whereas most books never sell more than 5,000 copies in their lifetime, we sold our first 25,000 copies in about 8 months! Sales have exceeded 400,000 copies and it has become one of the best selling Christian business books of all time!

In 1991, we released Psalm 91 - The Ultimate Shield and sold our first 25,000 copies in just three weeks with zero support from the "big boys". Within 60 days, we had eclipsed the 100,000 mark in sold books, easily qualifying for the NY Times best seller list - if they had wanted to acknowledge it.

A lot has changed in the world of publishing. We are in the age of digital marketing, landing pages, link sharing, social media, affiliate marketing, etc. And we have a plan for communicating and distributing God's Word using innovative publishing formats, means and methods to impact this generation and beyond!
